Joe Butterfield’s “very definite leadership style” had helped the Southern District Health Board (SDHB) face its responsibilities, says deputy chair Tim Ward in the Otago Daily Times. Health Minister Jonathan Coleman is replacing Mr Butterfield as DHB Chair. Health unions, including the ASMS, are watching the situation to see what the change signals for the DHB. ASMS Executive Director Ian Powell says Mr Butterfield’s department should send a message to senior management. The full article is available here.
