Canterbury District Health Board says it will record a $45 million blowout in the next 10 years if the Government does not step in, reports The Press newspaper.  In March 2014 the DHB asked the Ministry of Health for additional annual mental health funding of $4.5 million for up to 10 years.  Almost a year later, the Ministry has still not accepted the proposal and the DHB’s annual plan and budget for the 2014/15 financial year has not been signed off as a result.  The full article can be read here.
