This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the contract management process for community medicines, hospital medicines and feeding in to a wider programme around medical devices to ensure optimal performance and transparency is maintained.

Working across a diverse business, Contract Managers are primarily responsible for managing contract events, price increases, out of stock items, database management and analysis. It requires you to have excellent relationship management skills as your engagement with medical suppliers will ensure performance is optimised across the supplier base.

As this is an autonomous role it allows you scope to truly manage and foster supplier relationships whilst developing strategies to mitigate the risk of short supply. It is a unique opportunity that gives you fantastic breadth across the business as you will regularly be brought in to the decision making process.

The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in the above or may have good exposure to the procurement process and be looking to take the next step in your career. A general understanding of the public sector structure (in particular health) and function will be advantageous.

PHARMAC is the government agency responsible for ensuring New Zealanders have access to a wide range of affordable pharmaceuticals. Recently PHARMAC’s work and role and we are now playing a more active role in managing all hospital medicines and the vaccines funded by Government, in addition to medicines used in the community.
