Rural hospital medical specialists will soon be providing the majority of care at Dargaville Hospital. From October 1 the medical staffing of the hospital will return to the Northland District Health Board. It is expected the changes will allow the recruitment of highly skilled medical officers and health specialists. The Northland DHB will incorporate Dargaville into the new rural specialist programme already being offered at Kaitaia and Bay of Islands hospitals. Read the full article here.
