Ebola: the race to find a cure

The border crossing did not look encouraging.  Dense tropical forest spilled over the banks of the rushing Mano river, which divides Guinea to Liberia.  A military border guard, under instruction to take the temperature of every travel and to check for signs of fever, looked each of the travellers in the face and wrote down his own estimates as he had no thermometer.  Sarah Boseley writes in The Guardian about the efforts of a group of Oxford scientists to set up a trial of experimental drugs in the middle of the Ebola epidemic.  The full article is available here.
