Headline: Proud profits help get locals sky high

Thousands of tickets and hundreds of sausages were sold with pride when the South Hamilton Lioness fundraised last year.
Part of those funds were donated to the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter team at Waikato Hospital.
Lioness’ president Anne-Marie Clare said it was an honour to donate the $1500 to an organisation that helps so many people.
The funds donated will be put towards the maintenance and upkeep of the crew winch trainer, based inside the Jennian Hangar and a replica of the winch on the helicopter. The winch trainer helps crew and emergency personnel stay rescue-ready for any rapid-response mission they are tasked to.
“Over 400 missions were carried out in 2014. The life-saving search and rescue missions performed by our crew could not be possible without the ongoing financial support of community groups such as the Lioness’ Club,” said Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter operations manager Grant Bremner.
The Lioness also donated their profits to a women’s refuge, St Johns Ambulance shuttle service and Assistance Dogs, who train their dogs to work with disabled children.
